Residents of Villeray have another place to sip coffee. Café Ferlucci, a café-boutique à espresso, is now open on de Castelnau, between Saint-Denis and Berri. Management describes the neighbourhood coffee shop as a traditional Italian café with a contemporary twist that serves espresso drinks and other beverages, as well as biscotti, cornetti, and the like.
A launch party will be held at Ferlucci soon, catered by Marco Tafuro, the chef from L'Gros Luxe Plateau. Look for items from the event like focacce and panini to make the café's lunch menu. Customers can also pick up imported olive oils, assorted grocery items, and, shortly, Quebec beers, at the café.
Status: Café Ferlucci, 432 de Castelnau Est, (514) 649-2150. Now open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., weekends from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. h/t Chowhound.
