Marc-André Royal and co. will host a special dinner on November 4 at Le St-Urbain with colourful vigneron (and Fonseca cigar aficionado) Claude Chevalier. The charismatic scion of Ladoix-Serrigny's Domaine Chevalier in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune (not to be confused with Bordeaux's Domaine de Chevalier) has become something like a cult figure ever since he took over the family business in the mid-1990s.
Wine-wise Royal reports that the sold out $150 prix fixe will include:
· Corton Charlemagne 2008
· Ladoix 1er Cru 2010
· Gevrey Chambertin 2010
· Aloxe Corton 1er Cru 2009
As for the food:
· Lobster bisque with black truffles and smoked parsnips
· Cocotte of wild mushrooms with parmesan cream
· Slow cooked beef brisket with wild sour cherries
· Le St-Urbain [Official Site]
· Domaine Chevalier [Official Site]
