Talk about a late Christmas gift from Hubert Marsolais and chef Claude Pelletier. Fresh off a recent Plywood Report, the duo behind Le Club Chasse et Pêche and Le Filet will soft launch Le Serpent this Sunday and Monday.

The new restaurant takes over the old Cluny space in the Darling Foundry on Prince street. The Italian-ish spot will open for lunch (as of January 14) and dinner (as of January 3). The kitchen will also cater events at the Foundry's contemporary art space, which can accomodate 250 seated customers or up to 700 for cocktail events. Notable principals in the restaurant, all well familiar on the Montreal scene, include chef de cuisine Michele Mercuri, executive sommelier Philippe Boisvert and maître d'hôtel Denis Lessard.

Here is the official announcement on Le Serpent.
