Jérôme Rouault won the fourth season of Les Chefs! on Radio-Canada on Monday night.

Rouault triumphed over runner-up Isabelle Deschamps-Plante. In the final episode the two adversaries had to develop a gourmet menu for 50 people and include a cold appetizer, main course and dessert. They had carte blanche, seven hours to prepare and the help of three sous-chefs.

Rouault gets a Relais & Chateaux holiday in France and Quebec for the win, as well as $30,000 in cash. The 28-year-old came to Les Chefs! with a full résumé, including 14 years of practical experience, a degree in hotel management from France, and stages at several Michelin-starred restaurants in England and Paris. Rouault has lived in Montreal for just over a year.

By all estimates, the fourth season of Les Chefs! was a success. The series drew an average of 844,000 viewers per episode and was gamely hosted by Elyse Marquis and Chef Daniel Vézina. The panel of judges on the final episode consisted of Jean-Luc Boulay, chef-owner of Le Saint-Amour in Quebec City, Normand Laprise, chef-owner of Toque! and Brasserie T!, and Pasquale Vari, instructor at the l'Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ).
