Le Dorchester Club Has a Date

Photo: Le Dorchester Club

After what might be the longest soft launch in recent memory, Le Dorchester Club has officially slated its grand opening for September 25. Publicists have leaked news on the power lunch spot/5 à 7 boîte/restaurant/nightclub for months but the sizeable space once occupied by Nizza, and adjacent to Le Latini, was until very recently still under construction. Minor renos forced the space to close last week, just before the long Labour Day weekend, but it seems like all's a go now. (Hopefully someone will correct the restaurant's comedy of errors English menu before the grand opening.)
The restaurant has been on the radar of the city's nightlife bloggers since F1 Grand Prix weekend. Usual suspects like ClubTonight.caand Montreal.tv put the word out as far back as June but the twittersphere has been mum on the place thusfar. The one consistent bit of intel to be gleaned about Le Dorchester Club is its age restriction policy. In a confusing twist, the restaurant part of the establishment's equation is going by the name La Mangeoire - unrelated, apparently, to the food truck of the same name.
