Lesley Chesterman gives Impasto three out of four stars and reserves praise for chef Michele Forgione. On a night when Forgione's business partner Stefano Faita was in Toronto filming his CBC cooking show In the Kitchen, the Gazette critic concludes that "service glitches aside, there were many touchdowns at Impasto. So much so that I walked away thinking: 'OK, so I didn't go to Tuscany this summer. Woe is me. I did, however, have a pretty spiffy meal at Impasto.'" [The Gazette]
Veteran critic Jean-Philippe Tastet files his first review for Le Devoir and can't hide his admiration for Hôtel Herman. On the Mile End restaurant Tastet writes: "Parmi les petits jeunes qui travaillent très bien, le joli trio de l'Hôtel Herman se classe en tête de palmarès. En cuisine comme en salle, on sent un sérieux qui concourt à rendre le passage à cette table extrêmement agréable." [Le Devoir]
Voir critic Andrée Harvey pays a visit to the newly-opened La Maison du Magret in Old Montreal and likes the digs - and Bretagne chef Franck Le Cunff's food: "Plusieurs plats principaux plairont aux amateurs de foie gras.
