Sumac

Sumac, the new restaurant from David Bloom and chef Raquel Zagury, opens today for lunch.

Bloom told Eater Montreal months ago that the "food will be Middle Eastern. Basically doing a fresh to order falafel and shawarma shop with spreads and salads. Homemade stuff with a liquor license but still casual."

The address is 3618 rue Notre-Dame Ouest. This puts Sumac in good company, close to the likes of Café Saint-Henri and other newcomers like Foyer and Henri Saint-Henri.
