Junior, the new Filipino restaurant on Notre-Dame Ouest in Griffintown from brothers Jojo and Toddy Flores, Julian Somera and David Pendon, is almost set.

Now we have a visual on the Pinoy-inflected space in the former Café Aléatoire.

The immediate takeaway: Montreal has not seen the likes of a purely Filipino restaurant quite like this before. Pendon, who works for wine agency Oenopole, recently told Eater Montreal that the partners at Junior wanted to style the room after quintessential old Makati aesthetics. Artist and muralist Gene Pendon, David's brother, drew on family trips to the Philippines to give life to the idea.

Junior opens on Wednesday, October 29. Have a look at the space below.
