Magpie to Open Second Pizzeria on Amherst

A second Pizzeria Magpie from brothers Boris and Peter Popovic is imminent.

The lucky beneficiary? Rue Amherst.

To go beyond that would be mere speculation. No word yet on the specific address or, crucially, what kind of oven the new space will have. The one in the original Magpie on Maguire (see photo) was a salvage job from the defunct Tutto Bene on Saint-Viateur. As Sarah Musgrave wrote in a 2011 review:

"It had to be dug out and forklifted through windows, and then rolled down the street to its new digs, with the owners running after it."

Let's hope the second time around will be easier.
