Cocktail and offal-centric restaurant and food club Tripes & Caviar serves up a new menu this week. Viscera highlights include brain popcorn, duck's heart tartare with foie gras snow and veal's tongue with shimeji mushrooms.
The crown jewel, however, has to be the Gaspor milk-fed piglet fest from chef-owner Jean-Michel Leblond and co. The porcelet comes with stuffed quails, pork ribs, Thai-style salmon heads and sides. All told, the blowout banquet comes in at $525 for ten people. Be sure to order in advance.
With the new menu, new hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to late and weekends for brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. And yes, the restaurant still prefers you keep your watch and smart phone in your pocket.
