Danny St-Pierre took home bronze for Montreal over the weekend at Gold Medal Plates in Kelowna. The Sherbrooke chef who mans a mini-empire that spans his restaurant Auguste, books, television and radio, stood on the podium late Saturday thanks in no small part to his gala dish.
Toronto chef Lorenzo Loseto of George Restaurant won gold. Duncan Ly of Yellow Door Bistro took home silver for Calgary.
The annual culinary championship has raised over $8 million for Canada's Olympic and Paralympic athletes since 2004. Past Gold Medal Plates winners include Montreal chefs Martin Juneau, now of Pastaga, in 2011 and Mathieu Cloutier of Kitchen Galerie in 2010.
