The historic edifice that houses the Hôtel Pierre du Calvet and Les Filles du Roi restaurant is in peril, reports The Gazette today.
Despite the fact that the Pierre du Calvet house dates to 1770, it is not in the registry of Montreal historic sites. As such, heritage advocates fret about the landmark's fate, currently in the hands of owners Gaétan Trottier and Ronald Dravigne.
With conjecture that the hotel is up for sale (the municipal assessment of the property stands at $2.1 million), there may be reason for concern. Les Filles du Roi's best days, for one, seem to be behind it.
This recent Yelp review smarts.
