Josée di Stasio ends the current season of À la di Stasio with a terrific look at some of the movers and shakers in Saint-Henri and Little Burgundy. Past episodes have done the same with Old Montreal, HoMa, Mile End, Little Italy and Villeray.
The finale begins with Sud-Ouest players like Tony Campanelli (Campanelli, Bar de Courcelle) and Matt and Alex Winnicki (Satay Brothers) and gives some love to the likes of Ludger, Burgundy Lion and Lili & Oli. But the star of the show is undoubtedly Marc-Olivier Frappier. The Le Vin Papillon partner and Joe Beef chef cooks with di Stasio for the first time - namely, a few signatures from the former - and comes off as a natural ("Sauce à spagat!").
And yes, Dave McMillan, Fred Morin and even the infamously camera-shy Vanya Filipovic do join Frappier and di Stasio for the final scene, albeit briefly. Solid, homegrown food television, all in all.
