The sob story of a Laval man who plans to boycott Tim Hortons in the wake of an apparent assault because he spoke English seems more like a lame attempt by a local media outlet to exploit linguistic tensions in the 'burbs in the run-up to the provincial election than hard news.
A cursory Facebook search for the apparent victim, Ron Yaz, shows that the ex-Tim Hortons regular is a "former inmate at Kingston Penitentiary". Not that it makes a difference, necessarily, but in comparison to Pastagate and this violent fracas in a Tim Hortons in remote Alberta in 2013, the incident seems dubious.
