Two French Wine Events for Hump Day

French wine geeks can conquer those mid-week March blahs ce soir at Au Cinquième Péché and Le Bremner.

The former will hold a dégustation as of 6:00 p.m. with three winemakers: Jean-Claude Lapalu (Saint-Etienne-la-Varenne, Brouilly), Stéphanie Roussel (Château Lassolle, Sud-Ouest) and Philippe and Chrystelle Viret (Domaine Viret, Rhône). Seven wines in all, with hors d'oeuvres, for $45.

Meanwhile, at Le Bremner, chef Danny Smiles will collab with the cult Chenin Blancs of Jacky Blot (Domaine de la Taille aux Loups, Domaine de la Butte) at 9:00 p.m. Crown Salts manager/sommelière Jessica Midlash reports that a few places remain.
