Éric Gonzalez Ends Run at L'Auberge St-Gabriel

Photo: Facebook

Éric Gonzalez is off to helm the kitchens of Les Enfants Terribles, where, as a minority partner, he will help launch new projects with the small restaurant group in the months to come. The move is now official; Gonzalez served his last fregola sarda at L'Auberge St-Gabriel yesterday.

The chef reflected today on his tenure in Old Montreal, under which L'Auberge went from "a tourist trap" to a reputable restaurant, as Gonzalez put it in an interview with Eater Montreal last month.

Here, translated, is Gonzalez's valedictory message.

Last night was my last service in the kitchen of L'Auberge, after more than four years with unforgettable memories. Thanks to all for your confidence. A page turns and another will be written. Good luck Emilie Rizzetto, I wish you all the success you deserve.

A special and sincere thanks to the front of house team that highlighted our work. Of course, a huge thanks to my fabulous team in the kitchen; it is simple to have ideas yet one must be able to carry them out. You're all TOP GUN!

Now on April 28 I start a new chapter as Executive Chef and partner [at Les Enfants Terribles] . I'm very excited to write it; I promise you it will be full of beautiful things, surprises and new projects.
