Hit the Road Jack: City Shutters Au Bon Jack

Photo: Facebook

Infamous sandwhich shop Au Bon Jack is no more. It seems the Latin Quarter spot has run afoul of the city.

Here, a translated statement posted by management yesterday.

Dear customers, dear friends, dear employees,

It is with great regret that we must announce the closure of Jack for good.

Indeed, a formal notice of the Direction de l'aménagement urbain et des services aux entreprises de la Ville de Montréal – Arrondissement Ville-Marie – orders us to immediately cease activities under penalty of sanctions.

With a notice of 24 hours, they have revoked our certification of occupancy approved by their own service a few months ago.

Our project, our efforts and and the investments we have made for months are therefore completely annihilated after several errors by the municipal administration.

We are appalled by this decision and are currently consulting our lawyers to decide and determine any actions that we need to start considering to confront the present situation that is completely out of our control.

We want to thank you for your support and your attention.

P.S.: The good Jack is dead; Long live the good Jack!
