After a chef shuffle and major kitchen revamp, Sparrow is back. New hire Jay Taylor's menu was recently made official by the popular Mile End pub.
While partner Murad Meshgini has held to his vow to preserve similar prices with "more refinement", it is hardly fussy.
The new menu (below, in French) proffers bar snacks, salads and vegetarian plates, meat and fish and (sadly, so far) a lone dessert. Comfort fare is conspicuous; there is a burger, a faux filet, a warm lentil salad and Subcontinent holdovers from ex-chef Jeremiah Bullied like butter chicken, channa masala and tandoori wings. Oh and bonus: Sparrow now accepts Visa and MasterCard.
