Moose Bawr 'Canadian Pub' Opens Downtown

Images: Google Maps, Facebook

Moose Bawr, "Montreal's only Canadian pub", is officially open for business, as of this week. Partners in the new venture have significant experience in the city's club scene.

About that name. As one principal told MTLBlog, "there were English pubs and Irish pubs but no real Canadian pubs and we sorta wanted to give it that little Canadian nod hence Moose, the Bawr is really a typo that once we looked at it and said yeah that's us." (Another potential explanation: Moosebawr, one word, passes the Office québécois de la langue française sniff test. Moose Bar not so much.)

The Moose Bawr menu runs pub grub, with a focus on sausages, stunt poutines and the typical mix of beers and cocktails. At any rate, Downtown hockey fans now have another spot to watch the Habs and quaff a few pints.
