The Quartier des Spectacles has a new restaurant/bar/club hybrid. Pandore threw a proverbial soft launch shindig yesterday for supporters and opens this Thursday to the public.
Observers tell Eater Montreal that the cocktail and burlesque show bar will be open weekends only, in fact. This may play well for the summer festival rush - the space sports a terrasse that overlooks the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Laurent - but how Pandore will prolong the momentum beyond September is another question.
The establishment is not without talent. Chef Jean-François Baril, late of Anabel and Globe, is on site as a part-time consultant and the wine and drinks program comes courtesy sommelier Simon Duval. Bartender par excellence Taouife (Tao) Zrafi was most recently at Le Mal Nécessaire. Partners in the venture include Maxime Perreault (Abreuvoir) and Ian Bourassa.
