It may only be June but 2014 looks like the year of pizza in Montreal.
There is the soon-to-open GEMA in Little Italy, from Stefano Faita and Michele Forgione of Impasto. The new Pizza n° 900 in Outremont includes a state-of-the-art food truck and ambitious plans to franchise. Moreover, the founders and ex-principals in Yeh! Yogurt have recently bet it all on pizza. And so on.
We have not hit artisanal pizza saturation in Montreal, however. Not just yet. A new player enters the fray this month on Notre-Dame Ouest, in the defunct Saint-Henri General Store. Foyer sports the forno for the job and also offers "salads, fresh fish, meats and desserts."
