Moteur Grinds to a Halt on Hutchison

"La Pizzeria Moteur est fermée pour une période indéterminée."

This, the message on the website of the Pizzaiolle reboot as of last week.

While Moteur did not make a huge splash in Outremont, steps from the competitive, branché Laurier strip, the mid-range pizza and microbrew spot was not exactly moribund.

'Good Bet', wrote Sarah Musgrave for The Gazette this past December: "While the back-to-basics simplicity of the food and the retro glammy surroundings are a bit at odds, Moteur was a likable spot, even if it's not putting the local pizza scene into high gear."

Gildas Meneu gave Moteur three stars in his review from March in Voir: "Tout ce qu'on demande à une pizzeria, c'est de réussir ses pizzas. Mission accomplie. Le lieu, sympathique et convivial, plaira à toutes les générations."

Owner Daniel Noiseux was not available for comment.
