T & T Tacos and Tortas Now Open in the Plateau

The bygone Le Roi du Plateau and doomed Planète Poutine have made way for what seems like a winner for residents and workers in the vicinity of Rachel and the Main: a taquería, with summery cocktails to boot.

The scene may not be as spirited every day at T & T Tacos and Tortas as it was yesterday afternoon for Mexico's traumatic loss to the Netherlands in the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup but the corner restaurant definitely has potential.

Enthusiastic partners Alberto Rivera and chef Demetrio Vasquez were keen to remind customers, on more than one occasion, that items like tortillas, sauces, chorizo and bread for the tortas (Mexican sandwiches) were all made in-house from scratch. The flow of cheap Coronas may have been a factor but the general consensus from the majority Mexican crowd was positive.

T & T Tacos and Tortas is open daily, save Mondays, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
