Splashy Vertigo Stk+Bar Opens Downtown

Photo: Vertigo Stk + Bar, Dave Bernier and Dominic Cayer

La Queue de Cheval is not the only over-the-top restaurant to open in Downtown Montreal of late. Vertigo Stk+Bar, the restaurant-in-residence in the Altitude tower, hit the scene last week with a party for "famille et amis." See a mega gallery of contextless photos here.

The principals in the project, Hugues Bourque and Dominic Cayer, are responsible for the ZIBO! chain of "California cuisine" concept restaurants in the likes of Rosemère, Laval, Brossard, Anjou and Griffintown. Dave Bernier (GRANGE vin+bouffe) is the general manager.

Even beyond the name, there is a palpable "450" vibe to Vertigo Stk+Bar: "5 à 7 Meetmarket" Thursdays, the more-is-more, cookie-cutter menu and, mostly, this website about us:

Thanks to its wild and unfettered ways, Vertigo delivers a stimulating sensory experience. Sleek lines and contemporary design clash with raw natural materials to create a dazzling visual signature and richly textured mood.

To experience Vertigo is to give free rein to your instincts. Let yourself be carried by suave and enthralling rhythms. Allow yourself to be captivated by our sommelier's superb selection of wines. And surrender to the tempting aromas wafting in from the kitchen.

Our chef's creations, made from select ingredients only, are designed to gratify meat lovers' every desire. Whether solo or in a pack, you'll find this is the perfect setting for unforgettable events. For greater privacy, reserve one of our private halls. Arouse your senses and give in to the wild appeal of flavours and textures.
