The lavish reboot of the La Queue de Cheval steakhouse on de la Montagne - now more than two years in the works - will include a burger restaurant. QDC Burger or Cult Burger - the Facebook page is hazy on the name - will serve the kind of "haute" burger some Downtown diners have come to enjoy at the likes of M:BRGR.
The menu seems to reflect the personality and style of owner Peter Morentzos. It trumpets "100% Aged Beef...We use all the trimmings of all beef trimmings along with pork and veal!"
Add-ons vary from the typical (cheese, mushrooms, onions in sundry forms) to the oddball ("pan fired" egg, cherry tomato chutney) to Grand Prix baller fixins like foie gras, lobster and truffles.
There are signature burgers like "The Mob", "The Kong", "The Lefty" and "The How She Doing" with turkey and spinach. Because women.
You can pimp that burger with a sauce as well. On offer: "Bernaise", "Harrisa", tobiko caviar and salmon eggs, and fresh wasabi mustard aioli. Sides include a short rib poutine and onion rings with a "Jack Daniel and beer batter."
As for prices, garnish a 1/2 lb burger to the max, with a side and a milkshake, and the bill runs under $32 with tax.
