Le 4147 or Studzio, a defunct bistro on Saint-Denis below Rachel, has made way for Minced. The restaurant, from principal Seifeldin Zahran, promises "the freshest burgers you can get your hands on!" Montreal has been beset by burgers of late. This new Plateau player proposes "prime, hormone free, grass fed beef cuts ground in house every morning and never frozen." More from the Minced Facebook page (English-only for now):
We hand pick the freshest veggies, our buns are specially made and arrive fresh daily; and our fries are cut in house, triple cooked and sprinkled with rosemary salt.
The grass-fed claim may be a bit of a stretch. Zahran reports that his source is USDA 1885 Black Angus, which, while a superior commercial brand, is nonetheless grain-fed. The menu is mercifully short at Minced, with six burgers/sandwiches, two sides and two desserts. The most expensive item, the "Lobster Mobster", is $19. All burgers come with salad. Oh and bonus: weekend special brunch burgers.
