Société-Orignal, Alex Cruz and Cyril Gonzales' exceedingly talked about Montreal-based company that aims to bridge the gap between farmers and chefs, just got a shout out in the August issue of Food and Wine magazine. Julia Heffelfinger writes: "With devotees like chef Daniel Boulud, the online store Société-Orignal is a go-to source for hyperseasonal, fantastically artisanal ingredients. Co-owners Alex Cruz and Cyril Gonzales work with small family farms and foragers around Quebec to sell rarities like milk thistle and Irish moss. The men are especially proud of their Balconville apple vinegar: a lush, complex liquid that Cruz likens to aged balsamic. New York City's Del Posto serves it in a glaze for Dover sole." [Twitter]
