The Saint-Henri coffee scene gets a new Third Wave player from a trio of partners next week with the arrival of Buck15 Espresso Bar. The market-adjacent café on Notre-Dame between Greene and Atwater takes over a derelict salon and is an aesthetic volte-face for a block that includes a McDonald's, Thai Express and the beloved Green Spot diner.
At first glance Buck 15 seems completely on trend. A distinctive sign courtesy the omnipresent Mr. Sign. Look inside and there is Marzocco hardware, coffee from Minneapolis outfit Spyhouse Coffee Roasters, V60 pour-over bar and products from Mast Brothers Chocolate and Boxed Water.
Certain competition, no doubt, for the likes of Café Saint-Henri and Lili & Oli.
Buck 15 opens next Friday, August 22 with $1.15 coffees for the day.
