Alexandre Besnard (Le Confessional, Apt. 200, Rachel Rachel) and Patrick Hétu (A5 Management) relaunch the old Phillips Lounge as Jatoba next month.

The namesake of the self-described Asian fusion restaurant and cocktail bar comes from hymenaea courbaril, a tree common to the Caribbean, Central, and South America.

The hardwood from which will presumably figure in the redesign (one assumes) from Amlyne Phillips of La Chambre Design. Phillips (no relation to Phillips Lounge) has most recently had a hand in projects like Apt. 200, SuWu and L'Gros Luxe.
