Dave McMillan and Fred Morin will produce a sequel to the influential and successful The Art of Living According to Joe Beef: A Cookbook of Sorts. Meredith Erickson, whose credits also include Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird, will once again serve as co-author. The book is in preliminary stages.

McMillan divulged the news in a recent interview with Gear Patrol.

Fred and I will start a new book in the fall. It’ll be a kind of field guide for family men who think outside the box.

Two other notable quotes from the interview:

The food scene in Montreal now is the best it’s ever been. So much young talent and disdain for pretense — just delicious, well-made food. And the wine scene is the most interesting in North America.
My favorite restaurant is and will always be L’Express on Saint-Denis. It’s all for me. It’s the last place I’d eat in. It’s the template of all a restaurant can and should be.

The Art of Living was, in many respects, the talk of the 2012 cookbook season, snagging numerous accolades, namely a Food52 Piglet win and a James Beard nod.
