Reports have been rife that Charles-Antoine Crête, who left Toqué! last December after 14 years next to Normand Laprise, will open his own restaurant in Montreal with partner Cheryl Johnson (Breeze in Phuket, Culinary Institute of America).

Now Crête, who recently took on a role as a consultant at Majestique, has been spotted eyeing real estate with Johnson on the Main.

The chefs were specifically investigating the storefront once occupied by a hair salon at 4528 Saint-Laurent, just north of Mont-Royal, yesterday. The space is just next door to Hof Kelsten.

Could this be the future home of a Charles-Antoine Crête restaurant? Stay tuned.
