Jatoba opens at noon today and now we have a visual on the lunch, dinner and dessert menus from the restaurant in the old Phillips Lounge from Nicolas Urli, Alexandre Besnard and Patrick Hétu.
The big news on the menu front is that it stems from the mind of chef Olivier Vigneault and not his one-time mentor, Antonio Park, whom Urli describes as a business partner in the venture.
The result is less Japan meets South America then, and more pan-Asian. The partners describe the 100-seater as a montage of Vigneault's coups de coeur from his accumulated experiences at restaurants like Yuzu in Quebec City (where he was a co-owner), Marabout, Miso, Kaizen and, of course, Park.
Jatoba is open weekdays for lunch from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner and drinks from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and until 3 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
