Sorry barbecue lovers but Moonshine BBQ, on hiatus since the holidays, will not mark a return. A source confirms today that the restaurant has closed.
Moonshine BBQ opened on July 4, 2013 and quickly garnered respectable reviews from the likes of Marie-Claude Lortie in La Presse and Sarah Musgrave, who gave the restaurant a 'Good Bet' stamp of approval in the Gazette and wrote in late October of 2013:
"The gargantuan smoker, custom-made in Missouri and shipped here for the summer opening, is an impressive piece of work. (Check out the scratch marks on the archway to the dining room for a clue as to how hard it was to get it into the space.) And the Quebec-raised meats, some smoked for up to 18 hours, that emerged from it were really good."
The restaurant was also the subject of a segment on the Food Network Canada show You Gotta Eat Here!
