Jano, the longtime pusher of Portuguese food in the Plateau, will soon spawn a new restaurant in Montreal's Gay Village. The projected 85-seater at 1666 Sainte-Catherine Est will feature a menu similar to Jano's, reports principal Jose Carlos Vas Castanheira, who also owns the building, and will double as an art and antique gallery of sorts. Usual delays have stalled the new restaurant's opening date; projected for December, the unveiling will likely take place sometime in early 2016. Stay tuned for details.
