— The Plateau has a new café, at 5271 Saint-Denis, corner Boucher. The as-yet-nameless establishment serves sandwiches, viennoiseries, and a variety of coffee drinks. See photo above.

— White truffle season is upon us, and a number of Montreal restaurants are on board. Maison Boulud, in particular, has embraced the highfalutin fungi, and will feature a truffle dégustation from chef Riccardo Bertolino and company until November 18. Call (514) 842-4224 to reserve.

— Mile End cocktail den Kabinet will soon double as a daytime coffee bar. Stay tuned for developments.

— Another new wave gourmet grocery store has come to Montreal. Partners behind Saint-Henri's Marché La Pantry were previously involved in Ludger, until that bar-restaurant underwent a mysterious management shakeup last April. La Pantry is closed until November 16 for some adjustments.

— New HoMa restaurant Lapin Blanc held a food blogger/media event on November 10, and took a shit-ton of photos.

Pastaga and Martin Juneau will host Toronto chef Matt Blondin (Omaw, Acadia, Momofuku Daishō) on November 16 for a $50 prix fixe. Call (438) 381-6389 to reserve.

— You can now order burgers and sandwiches from Mile End's Lawrence and Boucherie Lawrence, courtesy of Hurrier.
