Sorocco is now open on Saint-Denis, corner Bienville, in the former Bistro du Sommelier. The Plateau newcomer from principal Driss Benkirane describes itself as "a neighbourhood restaurant and a friendly tapas bar with a relaxed atmosphere." More here, from Sorocco's Facebook page: "The Spanish-inspired cuisine offers simple yet tasty meals, classics with a twist, and dishes that are perfect for sharing. The menu prepared by chef Claire Bridel is constantly evolving, following the vibe of the seasons and market favourites." Some local food bloggers were recently invited to sample Bridel's menu (spoiler: they all loved it)—see below.

Status: Sorocco, 4681 Saint-Denis, corner Bienville, (438) 386-4621. Now open Tuesday to Sunday for dinner.
