Ichifuku, a New Downtown Montreal Ramen Restaurant, Opens Today

Slurp, slurp.

Ichifuku

A new restaurant tailor-made to sate Concordia University's student body opens today. Shaughnessy Village's Ichifuku (close to, notably, Kinka Izakaya and Kazu) has taken over the bygone Souvenirs de Bangkok with ramen galore, and izakaya staples like karaage, and gyozas. The emphasis here, however, will most definitely be Japanese noodle soup; look for the likes of sio, miso, tonkotsu, and chile-spiked tan-tan men ramen from Ichifuku's kitchen. The restaurant pre-opens today and tomorrow for lunch. Incidentally, Ichifuku's owner is Takeshi Sugawara, of Plateau izakaya Kabocha.

Status: Ichifuku, 1925 Sainte-Catherine Ouest, between Towers and Saint-Marc, (514) 932-7227.
