Maple mavens rejoice. You can now book tables at Cabane à Sucre Au Pied de Cochon for the 2016 sugar shack season. The Saint-Benoît-de-Mirabel spot, 55 km northwest of Montreal, will re-open, after the usual apple season hiatus, from February to May. The cost for adults is $63.50 before taxes and tip, and $23.50 for children 4 to 12 years old. There's no charge for children under the age of three.

The past two seasons at Martin Picard's popular backwoods restaurant elicited a flood of reservation requests. A year ago Au Pied de Cochon's servers crashed, and two years ago the restaurant welcomed some 19,000 patrons for the maple season. Reserve here.

Update, Wednesday, December 2, 2015, 4:15 p.m.: Au Pied de Cochon's 2016 sugar shack season just sold out, in less than two days. The restaurant's website has been updated with this message.

We are no longer taking reservations for the 2016 Sugar Season. Reservations for the 2016 Harvest Season will begin on April 1st 2016.

If you have already submitted a reservation request form for the 2016 Sugar Season, you will receive a confirmation email in the next 48 hours.
