Schlouppe Bistrot Nakamichi Just Gave Downtown Montreal More Ramen

In time for Concordia's winter semester.

Downtown Montreal has been swept up in a surge of the broth and noodle variety. Ramen, specifically, has taken the city's core by storm, and nowhere is this more apparent than the Concordia University/Shaughnessy Village quarter. Hot on the heels of Ichifuku, a new slurp shop from Kabocha izakaya, comes Schlouppe Bistrot Nakamichi. The restaurant from principals Jumpei Iwakiri and Bukhbat Zorigoo replaces the bygone Café Verdure at 2159 Mackay, between Sherbrooke and de Maisonneuve. After a soft launch service yesterday, the ramen peddler is now open in earnest. Come 2016, management will strive to open seven days a week.

Status: Schlouppe Bistrot Nakamichi, 2159 Mackay, (438) 383-7650, now open from noon to 6 p.m. See holiday hours here.
