Montreal native and owner of New York's Mile End Deli, Noah Bernamoff, has some very strong feelings about poutine. Despite his "deep-seated principled belief" that the dish should stay true to its roots (shout-out to Lafleur), he admits that "the average American loves to jazzercize things, in general."
