By most accounts, Buck15 Espresso was one of the surprise café hits of 2014. The purveyor of Third Wave coffee drinks and artisanal toast came on the scene in August close to Atwater Market with a state of the art Marzocco espresso machine, coffee from Minneapolis outfit Spyhouse Coffee Roasters, a V60 pour-over bar and products from Mast Brothers Chocolate and Boxed Water. After a water pipe incident last week, however, principals Royden Kyle Riettie, Jodie Weston-Riettie, Teresa Carson and Sherwin Commock made the decision to close.
"We were forced to close for two weeks due to water pipe damage. Despite the frustration, it gave us time to rethink Buck15. After consideration, we decided to take advantage of this time off by extending it. No snoozing around for us though, we will be hard at work taking Buck15 to another level. We'll make sure to keep you guys in the loop, after all it's thanks to your support we're able to make this decision confidently."
