Victor Gonzalez wants the humbler foods from his native Venezuela to shine in Montreal. With Cacique Grill, in the former Bocadillo, the former Central University of Venezuela architecture student and Caracas-born restaurateur will try to do just that.

"It was time to change the concept and go deeper into the roots of Venezuelan street food in a more straightforward way," affirms Gonzalez. "Not watered down at all."

With that, expect the likes of arepas, cachapas and salchipapas en más on the corner of Mont-Royal and Saint-Laurent. At all hours too: Cacique Grill is now open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 a.m. Note the correct phone number is (514) 439-7720.
