The borough of Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie will consider a bold new plan on February 11 to open three new restaurants in the suddenly in demand and dynamic Angus Shops sector. The projects include a fifth outlet for the Mamie Clafoutis bakery chain and two restaurants — a steakhouse and a pizzeria — from partners in the successful Rosemont bistro M sur Masson. (Arsenal art gallery owner Daniel Lacombe, a principal in M sur Masson, is currently mired in a bit of trouble over another pizzeria, Foyer, in Saint-Henri.)
The borough council session will specifically examine a request for a permit to transform a 10,000 square foot space between the Locoshop Angus development and the Angus clinic. Once this is done, the prospective tenants will have a few more regulatory obstacles to contend with. It seems likely that the restaurants will serve Rosemont residents by this summer, however. The website ruemasson.com reports that the three projects will include terrasses.
