Sumi Dojo

Montreal, brace for another izakaya. With the arrival last week of Sumi Dojo in the bygone Primadonna on the Main, relative newcomers Ichi Go Ichi E and Kabocha are old news.

The latest vendor of karaage, ramen and sake bombs comes from principals Chung Ming Leung, I-Kun Lu, Man Cheng Lu and Ching Yang Lo. A source confirms that several former employees of Imadake (whose owner, Kevin Fung, is also behind Ichi Go Ichi E) left the Downtown Montreal izakaya to work for the Sumi Dojo partners. After a quiet soft launch, the restaurant is now open to the public.
