Fresh off his disclosure that he was closing his restaurant and suing the city of Montreal, today Thai Grill owner Frédéric Pichette forwarded photos of the damage caused by a burst water main. The March 3 mishap triggered a powerful flood inside the premises. "It was like something out of a movie," recalled Pichette. "It was unbelievable."
The restaurateur lamented that there was "water everywhere" as a result of the accident. "In the walls. In the ceiling. Everywhere. The amount of work that's needed to fix it all – we'll miss most of the summer and terrasse season. We can't reopen in September and expect it to be the way it was. We're done."
