Sources confirmed yesterday that discount comfort food chainlet L'Gros Luxe is in talks to replace Limon, open since 2006, on Notre-Dame Ouest in Little Burgundy. Limon's principals include radio personality Ricky Dee (Richard Drouin) and Dominique Lafond. ICYMI, the restaurant has been hampered in recent times by a legal skirmish between Dee and ex-partner Francis Dumais, whom Dee accused of fraud. Clearly, L'Gros Luxe's partners are making good on their ambitious growth plans for 2015. Aside from the potential Little Burgundy move, partners Alexandre Bastide, Tamir Schlanger and Corey Webb are poised to open a new L'Gros Luxe in Vieux-Longeuil. In a tough economy, the year-old chainlet has won over price-conscious diners with the likes of avocado fries, mini burgers, tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches and kitschy Mason jar drinks.
