Greek restaurant Namos has made way for a Moroccan restaurant and tea room on Bernard in Mile End. La Cuisine d'Izza, from Jérémie Assouline (late of Ryu and XO), will welcome customers as of this Wednesday. The restaurant has ambitious plans to open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner — look for traditional Moroccan sweets (like sfenj, a type of fritter or beignet — see below), coffee and tea services and comfort dishes like shakshuka and couscous plates.
Status: La Cuisine d'Izza, 228 Bernard Ouest, (514) 490-4222. Opens Wednesday, weekdays as of 7 a.m., weekends as of 9 a.m., until 10 p.m.
