Red Bird

Best-selling cookbook author Marcy Goldman and son Jonathan Goldman are opening a new bakery/lunch spot Red Bird Café in the Plateau neighbourhood.

Eater reached out to Goldman for a few words on the new project, and he told us:

We are looking to open this June and the menu will include chef-crafted, homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods based on the recipes in my mother's cookbooks and website.

As you could imagine, I ate pretty well as kid with a professional chef and master baker for a mother. The idea for Red Bird was born out of my desire to share the culinary wealth so to speak. Having tasted things like pizza croissants and Mandarin Chocolate Chip Biscotti, I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to experience the ambrosial flavors and genuine hospitality that was my birthright.

Look here for updates on Red Bird before the June opening.
