The future home of the first Danny St-Pierre restaurant in Montreal recently went under the knife. Eater was on site with the chef to capture the roughly 200-square-metre Mile End space prior to the demolition a.k.a. exorcism of tenants past (see photos below). Suffice it to say that after inevitable delays, the ex-principal of Sherbrooke's Auguste is anxious for La Petite Maison to take shape. The chef speculated months ago that success for the new project will depend on the ability to "send out quality food made with quality ingredients at a reasonable price." The tentative menu plan is to dish up starters to share (spreads, a lot of vegetables) and mains that "have an identity." A chef de cuisine will be hired but, clearly, La Petite Maison is St-Pierre's baby. Stay tuned for more news on the anticipated restaurant in the weeks to come.
