It was first rumoured a year ago. If social media is any indicator, Impasto chef de cuisine Yann Turcotte (pictured below) now seems poised to open a casse-croûte, possibly named Chez Tousignant, with Stefano Faita and Michele Forgione. There is some conjecture on Chowhound that the new restaurant will be located in a former café on Drolet, between Bélanger and Mozart, close to Jean-Talon Market.
Forgione has taken intermittent opportunity over the past year to applaud Turcotte's mastery of Québécois snack bar fare, from all-natural, homemade hot dogs and burgers to poutine. Yesterday, however, the Impasto and Pizzeria Gema principal went beyond the usual hints and unleashed a barrage of potential previews. Have a look and stay tuned for more details on Impasto's theoretical new project as they become available.
